The current issue of Photonics Letters of Poland features nine papers related to various aspects of photonics, which include such topics as the determination of the refractive index of an egg's white and yolk depending on temperature; a new concept of a photovoltaic model characterized by increased efficiency obtained by using 3D flexible panels with additional reflecting mirror; the model of an optical sensor based on a two-mode interference in a planar gradient-step index configuration; an introduction to the sensor platforms of integrated photonic systems based on ceramic and polymer materials (HYPHa); the results of structural and optical measurements of undoped and europium doped LaPO4 phosphors for UV sensing applications; concept of field-of-view correction in a virtual reality head-mounted display with the use of the varifocal optics; investigation the effect of three graphite precursors on the size of reduced graphene oxide; optoelectronic system for detecting short-circuits in low-voltage networks; application of optical reflectometer for monitoring corrosion process.
