Abstract

In the paper propagation of temporal pulses through nonlinear Kerr and Kerr-like media is described numerically. Evolution of numerical solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equation significantly changing its shape is studied over the distance up to few thousands nonlinear lengths. The influence of two differentiation algorithms and three types of transparent boundary conditions on the accuracy of calculation is discussed. The optimal choice is proposed.
